The pasture update focused on pasture establishment, including planting machinery, results from comparative trials on a range of alternative fertilizers. Advances in precision agriculture were also covered.The day started out with formal presentations in the morning discussion on the range of pasture machinery and then the afternoon followed with two farm visits, the first was at Sam and Bea Bakers “Yiri North” and the Burridge family property “Glendon Vale”.
Speakers on the day were Fiona Leech, South East Local Land Services, Lewis Kahn AIMS Ag, Cameron Allan, Meat and Livestock Australia, Mark Trotter, UNE and Mick Duncan, pasture agronomist. Mark Pietsch “Yarraford Station”, joined the speakers during the panel session.
The NSW Pasture Update series is coordinated by The Grassland Society of NSW Inc. and funded by Meat and Livestock Australia.
