Webinar 1: Grazing chaff dumps – Weds 8 October 2014, 1-2PM AEDT

Join Andrew Boultbee, grower from York WA and Peter Newman Leader of Communications, Australian Herbicide Resistance Initiative as they discuss the benefits of grazing chaff dumps versus burning. Instead of burning the chaff heaps, Andrew Boultbee started grazing this resource during summer. The sheep flatten the chaff heaps to a very small pile and help to redistribute some of the nutrients in these heaps back out to the paddock.

Webinar 2: Diverting weed seeds onto permanent tramlines – Weds 15 October 2014, 1-2PM AEDT

Tune in again to hear Peter Newman and Esperance grower Mark Wandel talk about the latest practice of diverting weed seeds on to permanent tramlines. As an add-on benefit to a controlled traffic system, diverting chaff from the harvester into compacted wheel tracks or tramlines gives harvested weed seeds a tough environment to grow and spread.

We ask that you complete the attached survey in order to gain feedback on your perceptions of our organisation and your ideas and suggestions on where we could make improvements.

Your input to the Society is very valuable and important to us, but all information you provide in the survey is confidential.

Website Upgrade

You will have noticed some changes to the website as we go about upgrading and improving the site for members and visitors.   Some of the changes already implemented are cosmetic only while other ideas are more substantial and require some strategic planning by the committee.

So we’re looking for feedback from members as to how the website can be improved and what kind of information/features you are looking for here.  There is a comments form/button below so please feel free to contribute your ideas here or email them direct to admin@grasslandnsw.com.au

Basically we’re looking for the Grassland NSW website to:

  • have a fresh and modern look
  • provide services to Society members (membership/conference information, etc)
  • publish relevant information on grassland/pasture management
  • publicise upcoming events

We welcome your ideas on how to best achieve these objectives so look forward to hearing your comments.
